The Great Outdoors
Martindale Pond and “The Henley” are at the centre of St. Catharines’s strong rowing history. Since 1903, men and women from across North America and around the world have traveled to St. Catharines for the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
In 1999, St. Catharines was host to the World Rowing Championships and significant and aesthetic changes were made to the course and the surrounding parkland. Adjacent Rennie Park features gardens, sculptures and monuments that pay tribute to our rowing heritage.
